Hello again one and all! Here’s another post from me, theanimegek, and I will say I’m looking forward to this one! Everyone has their favorite anime characters, whether they’re favorites because of power or fan service, someone picks them as their favorite for something. So for this one, I’ll be taking a look at some of the characters I loved and share them with you! Just for the sake of time, this post will be focusing on my favorite guy characters, even more specifically, guys that I love. Through much heart-ache and extreme debate, I finally decided where these guys landed on my scale. This list will go from 10 – 1, with honorable mentions at the end! So off we go!
#10: Ryota Suzui (Kakegurui)
I watched Kakegurui maybe twice. Once in a large binge, and a partial second binge with a friend to show them. I’ll admit, this anime was a bit out of my taste, but I only continued watching so I could watch how the gamblers cheated in each different game. However, I really did like watching Ryota Suzui in this anime too! He was very, very, very unlike all the other characters in the series, where he saw absolutely no point in gambling. He disliked it, part of that reason being that he was just so bad at it. He was cautious, worried, and just wanted to make sure those close to him, mainly Yumeko, didn’t get so far into debt that they couldn’t get out. But other than that? Maybe a tad plain. But he sure deserves to be on this list! I can promise you that!
#9: Shinra Kishitani (Durarara!!)
If I had to guess, this was probably one of my favorite characters in the early days of my anime obsession. Shinra was by far one the cutest little characters I remember from when I only had around five series under my belt. Cute, funny, and yes, maybe a bit pervy, but all little things were forgiven with his kind temperament. And! Not to forget how kind he was to little ol’ Celty, and how utterly accepting he is of everyone! Now, I may not have made it through all of Durarara!!! x2, but if I missed anything to taint this sweet lil dude, I don’t regret it! He’ll always be the doctor that accepts all!
#8: Slaine Troyard (Aldnoah Zero)
Okay okay, sure. This guy maayyyy be a bit of an a-hole when it comes later in the series, but I truly believe that Slaine had good intentions in the end. Besides, his loyalty has and always will stay with Princess Asseylum Vers Alusia. In the end, he had pure intentions at heart. Who wouldn’t love this little guy who was quite literally abused by the Versians? I do! I trust Slaine would have made the right decision if the chance came!
#7: Kyo Sohma (Fruits Basket)
Kyo, Kyo, Kyo. The only cursed Sohma without technically considered part of the Chinese Zodiac. From his entrance of bursting through the ceiling or his pure hotheadedness, he stars as one of the main Sohma’s we get to meet throughout the short series. He doesn’t like to show that he’s actually very good socially with people, but even less he’ll show the side that he actually wants to be considered part of the family. To him, that’ll never change, and frankly it’s admirable. No one wants to be abandoned by their family, but somehow Kyo is able to stick through it. No matter if it’s through his other form or being stuck with Tohru’s antics, he was pretty much always my favorite Sohma!
#6: Roy Mustang (Full Metal Alchemist)
Ahh yes. Roy Mustang. Now granted, I haven’t seen Brotherhood, so my knowledge of him is strictly limited to what I know from the original show. But personally, I loved his performances in FMA. He was cocky, yet knew how to be a good leader and do what’s right till the very end. Yet he also knows how to understand feelings, and has had hardship in his life and doesn’t just spew advice to anyone that will listen. For me? That’s enough to make this list. But hey, maybe it’ll change when I get around to watching Brotherhood!
#5: Vash the Stampede (Trigun)
Meet the humanoid typhoon! Vash is the most adorable humanoid typhoon on Gunsmoke! He may be known for destroying towns, but this little marshmallow doesn’t mean to! Being a pacifist and a food lover goes a long way for this guy, even with people constantly going after his 60 billion dollar on his head! Sweet, compassionate, and an utter goofball is all that’s really true about this guy! Love and Peace!
#4 Genos (One Punch Man)
It’s rare that I love a character on first site, but this was definitely one of those times. I loved watching Genos in Episode 2, running around and trying to save the day from the crazy Mosquito lady. Everything about his character intrigued me, his style, cool demeanor, all the down to his theme when he fought. I enjoyed him, even though he has a few flaws, like his understanding that if he fails he must self destruct. He isn’t the number one, but I do like him for his unique traits. What can I say? The cool calm collected types always refreshing! Well.. that and I seem to like the characters with spiky hair!
#3: Franken Stein (Soul Eater)
Ah Stein. My favorite scientist. His personality… frightened me at first, with his crazy obsession with dissecting living things and somewhat scary seriousness when it came to class time, but this was a character I grew to love. His quirky name, his oddly fascinating match between home and his attire, all are reminiscent of a mad scientist. However he’s funny, kind, and really loves to teach at the DWMA. He cares for those he teaches, and protects when he can, but helps them succeed when they won’t listen. The poor guy just wanted a good life, free from his insanity. Sadly it got him in the end, but to my relief, he came out okay. I love him, and I hope he came to grow on all of you too!
#2: Natsu Dragneel (Fairy Tail)
Oh sweet Natsu, my sweet adorable Natsu. With his recklessness and without much wit about him in Season 1, I wasn’t immediately attached to him. But as the series moved forward, I loved him more and more. His huge grin, his caring soul, and loyalty towards Fairy Tail was always are only some of my favorite things about him. Natsu is true to himself, and doesn’t let anyone else’s judgments cloud his determination. He knows how to be serious, yet he knows when to lighten the mood. He may not be the most clever of folk, but he’s still our Natsu!
#1: Mikoto Suoh (K)
I’ve talked about K before as a review, but I know come back to it for this guy. Mikoto Suoh- the King of the Red Clan. Homra is painted as violent and anger driven throughout the series- and don’t get me wrong, they are far more violent than any of the other clans- however there’s also another side to it as well. He’s loyal to his clansmen, and he doesn’t back down from a challenge when he doesn’t absolutely have to. Mikoto may have a temper and a stubborn head, but he also is gentle to sweet little Anna, and does what he believes is right. He is truly a wonderful character, and I enjoy his relationship with Homra very deeply. There may not be as many ‘loveable’ traits of this guy, but something about him just catches my attention the most. Mikoto Suoh, truly will always have a special place in my heart. That for sure, will never change.
And now for the Honorable Mentions!!

So there you have it, my whole Top Ten Hot Anime Boys! I know it was a little stale after awhile with my paragraphs, but I’ll be sure to come up with a good post to come along next! May be a review, may be a ‘discussion’ post. We’ll see how it goes! But hey, here’s another post from theanimegeek! I’ll be sure to write a post soon enough!~
