Avatar the Last Airbender ~ Review

We all have one show that we just remember from our childhood. Whether that’s anime or not, it’s always warming to the heart to see it again in passing. Although it was awhile ago, (I’ve been busy- sorry guys!) I just recently got one of these said shows for Christmas. From the title, It doesn’t take a genius to guess what show I’m talking about!

Avatar: The Last Airbender was one of my absolute favorite shows growing up, not to mention that it coming back to it, it’s so much better. For the time it was created, this show has some seriously well done plot points. For those of you who don’t know this show? Well.. I’d say you should hop right onto that.

The idea of the show is entirely new, from the concept of bending to all the character ideas. It’s sort of one of those shows that always stick out in your mind when you think about an anime that’s creative. Sure all anime are creative in their own right, but some are definitely more unique than others.

Avatar always brought my family together, as we’d watch several episodes in one sitting before deciding to put it away, not to finish it too soon. Honestly was one of my favorite times, as my family didn’t sit down to watch anime together often.

Sure the art style wasn’t the most pleasing to the eye, and sure it seems more like a cartoon then anything, but I guess the same thing can be said about Soul Eater!

The true hero of this show, all in all, was the characters’ personalities. It was refreshing to see characters ranging from humorous to emo, motherly to rebellious. Not to mention that the series also wasn’t afraid to tackle some rather hard subjects from time to time. They aren’t exactly obvious at first, but they tackle hard family relations when it came to Zuko and his father Ozai, yet also showed the amazing Toph, who charged through her disadvantages and proved that people can still be badass.

Although I don’t have the best and the longest post about this one, it still sits close to my heart. It will forever and always be snuggled close to my anime fan-girl heart, no matter how busy I may become!

Don’t even get me started on the Netflix live action show, but I’ll hold off until that actually comes out!

I’m sorry that I haven’t got around to a lot of these lately guys! I’ve gotten so busy lately, but I’ll try and keep up and stay determined with these posts as much as I can! Go ahead and let me know if you want me to review anything or discuss any interesting anime topics. The world is young and my heart goes out to you guys from being so patient! So I’ll see you guys later, this is theanimegeek signing off until next time!
